The Inn at Afton – Afton, VA

The Inn at Afton opened as a Holiday Inn in 1968, shortly after I-64 made its debut through Afton Mountian. The location atop the mountain made for breathtaking views of two valleys, and is notable for being less than a mile from the northern terminus of the Blue Ridge Parkway and the start of Skyline Drive. Due to the lack of local attractions, the hotel has fallen into disrepair (although still rents out hotel rooms!)
