Krispy Kreme – Richmond, VA
Photo description:
This is an interesting location. The building doesn’t look like it matches the age of the sign – because it doesn’t. The original building, according to the Henrico County property records, the original building was demolished in 2000. You can see a photo of the original building in this property card from the 1980’s. It doesn’t give the build date, but there is another property card that indicates that Krispy Kreme was added onto in 1981, and 1971 is underlined but the rest of that section is mutilated.
Either way, this store has an awesome sign! I love when a business keeps a sign when renovating or replacing the building. Arby’s does that a lot, when you see their Big Hat Sign alongside a modern building.
