Holiday Inn Holidome Demolition – Fredericksburg, Virginia
Photo description:
This hotel, a Holiday Inn Holidome, opened in 1963. Up until demolition, it has been a few different brands, including a Ramada and Howard Johnson.
In 2016, the Holidome and part of the indoor rooms were demolished. One row of indoor rooms, as well as the second building were preserved and the complex was rebranded as a Red Roof Inn and Knights Inn, respectively. The Spotsylvania County Board of Supervisors also voted to approve a Raceway gas station where the Holidome stood, but was never built.
In 2021, a local Chick fil A operator built a Chick fil A on the site of the former Holidome.
