Gallery Pl-Chinatown Metrorail Station – Washington, DC
Photo description:
The Gallery Place-Chinatown station on the Washington DC Metrorail system opened on December 15, 1976, and is one of the system’s first stations. It is an example of the heavy Brutalist architecture that the DC Metro is famous for.
The DC Metro system has more escalators than any other transit network in the world, and Gallery Place-Chinatown is no exception. It has four levels, with a mezzanine level and two levels of platforms. The station is served by the Red, Green, and Yellow lines. It is a major transfer point between the Red and Green lines.
