Former BEST Headquarters – Richmond, Virginia

Photo description:

This is the former headquarters for BEST Products located at 1400 Best Plz, Richmond, VA.

This building was designed by Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer, and operated as the headquarters for BEST Products from 1981 until 1998. After BEST Products moved out, Bank of America moved in and operated here from 1999 to 2010. In 2011, Henrico County purchased the property.

In 2023, Henrico County sold the property to a developer to redevelop it into a mixed use development called GreenCity, but plans were officially cancelled when the sale was called off due to the contractor not paying Henrico for the property.

Unfortunately being that Bank of America operated in this building for over 10 years after BEST vacated, it is very likely that they stripped out all of the original charm that this building once had.

One of the notable architectural pieces of the property are the Art Deco eagles, which were salvaged from the Airlines Terminal Building in New York City before it was demolished for the headquarters for Philip Morris Companies (now Altria, which is now headquartered in Richmond).
